AEI: A look behind the scenes

Let's stay with Albert Einstein. As a layman can understand his physics? I'm not sure, But if so, then Einstein Online, one site of the Max Planck Institute for Gravitational Physics, rightly nicknamed the Albert Einstein Institute (AEI) bears. On Einstein Online There Einstein, Spotlights as well as many links and references. The pages are didactically well made and read in places like a thriller. Prof. Susan Neiman, Einstein Forum

If one is planning a trip through the research landscape in the country of Brandenburg, The question arises immediately, where to begin the best. After all, is one of the densest research landscape in Europe. For me, came above all an institution in question, that Einstein Forum in Potdam. It combines nature- and Humanities, Research and Education.
An appointment was quickly found, and so I stood in mid-January with a little queasy feeling in the Secretariat on the Neuer Markt in Potsdam. What had seemed so obvious to me before, built up suddenly in my head to a big hurdle on. The name of the brilliant scientist, the somewhat elitist reputation of the institution, and also the name of the director, Prof. Susan Neiman, of a good reputation in the world has.

My embarrassment was totally unfounded. After only a few minutes waiting, I sat on the soft couch in the office of Susan Neiman, drank coffee and chatted casually with her and a fellow about my request, in the forum - and about Barack Obama (necessarily Listen!). (more…)
